Welcome to Information Literacy Education LBS707

Here, I will be discussing the weekly information learned from the classroom concerning the history and future of information literacy. As we know it, a lot of us had a bit of struggle in our first year levels at University. We struggled to understand what the Lectures were trying to teach us, never mind understanding the assignment content and all that, HORROR!! The reason for that might have been that our level of understanding was still developing or that we had a bit of challenge with our literacy levels. We come from different backgrounds, we went to different schools, our levels of understanding won't and will never be the same.
To save the day, following me as I discuss weekly trends on Information Literacy.

  2. Indeed...there are other skills besides reading and writing (academic literacy) that our students need to develop...we will look at these over the coming weeks.

  3. You are so right Fikiswa, the transition from Secondary and Tertiary education is difficult in the first year, and we need to adapt to that first before even understanding what is being said. For each person it is different, that is why it is important to have the information literacy programmes in order to assist those who are in need.
